Radio gives you the ability to talk to a whole lot of people who might never have seen your product or might not have thought of your business. Radio is about creating a desire, and encourage action for things that you don’t necessarily think about buying. It could be a new sofa, it could be a new fridge, or it could be a new gym membership.

And the beauty, which I love about radio, is that people have been talking about what is happening with other forms of media. They talk about the downward spiral due to technology; whereas, radio has actually grown. Even with all the other competition in the medium, whether it be iHeartRadio, whether it be Spotify, radio is actually growing its audience.

And it’s predicted to grow for the next five years. So, you should be very confident, when you’re investing money in radio. You got a guaranteed audience you’re getting to.

It’s a very good product. I know what exceptional results it delivers for clients who have a good product and a good message to the market. So, if you want a whole lot of new consumers to your business, I’d highly recommend using it as a medium.

National Coverage

In today’s market, you can buy locally or you can buy full markets. If you’ve got a business that’s got four locations, you’re going to buy South Island-wide or  North Island-wide, and if you want more you can even buy New Zealand-wide. From this, I’ve got clients in Auckland, Dunedin, Christchurch, and New Zealand-wide.

OUR STORY

A Showcase Of Us.

I started with radio in NZ in 1990 and am now the premier agent in radio advertising in New Zealand. I’ve taken local companies to national companies all over New Zealand, and sold over $30 million dollars in ad revenue.

I’ve been in radio now for 19 years, contracting to Mediaworks and I’ve been in the number one positionin New Zealand for quite a few years now. We’ve turned over about $35,000,000, which is right up there in industry standards as one of the highest in New Zealand, if not the highest.

But, it’s not about the $35,000,000. It’s not about being number one. What I hope comes out of that, is we are looking after our clients. We want to ensure that we’re delivering results for their investment, and a good return on their investment – which I genuinely believe, myself and my team can do, and radio can as well. So, anyone that would like to meet with me, or have an appointment, it would certainly be great to have coffee; it would be a worthwhile 15 minutes to half an hour spent with me, talking about their business and marketing, and how they’re going overall with their sales.

I am lucky to have a great team backing me, and great brands to work with.

My background is ten years in banking, working through to the branch accountant level. I left there and joined Lion Nathan and I spent seven years retailing in liquor. The Marlborough store I was running was in the top five out of 85 stores, in New Zealand for profit per square foot – it was an outstanding store. I left there to work for BOC Gases, which formerly was New Zealand Industrial Gases, which was gas and welding supplies, which I knew nothing about; and I managed the branch there.

I left Marlborough to go to Papua New Guinea for three and a half years, where I was the commercial marketing manager for BOC Gases in Papua New Guinea and I got promoted out of there to Victoria, Melbourne.

I was a state manager for Victoria and Tasmania, for a new safety products division they started up, and then it was time to come home to New Zealand – and I got into radio really by a bit of luck, through a friend of mine. I started in radio, and I was probably really, to be honest, only going to only stay for about a year or two. And 19 years later, I’m still here, contracted to Mediaworks, and it’s still going well.
